We buy and sell Classic Cars,  We are certified Classic Car Appraisers.

We started Blue Oval Ranch, Inc. because we have a strong passion for Classic Vehicles.  While our Company name hints at being a Ford fan, we pretty much love all the manufacturers across the board and recognize something special in all the different classic vehicles.  We are slowly changing our name, to DENWERKS Vintage Cars.    Please give us a call or stop on by, we are located in Salem, Oregon, 503-910-2085.

Preservation VS Restoration

If you don't know, I'm into cars, lol.
I’ve come to an important realization as I’ve watched other people that are into cars. There’s an assumption that any classic car owner needs to be focused on “restoring” their car to show quality perfection.
Because of this, a lot of old cars wind up sitting waiting for the day when their owners have the time and money to do a full restore. I meet these people all the time, I see an old car in a garage or back yard with a tarp, and they always say, “I am going to get to it one day”, and it never happens. You know these folks, I used to be one. Lol.
Anyways, I’ve come to see that there needs to be another level of classic car ownership. The idea of “Preservation” where the goal is not necessarily show perfection, but instead, reliable usability. This allows people to enjoy and drive the car that they have, instead of feeling guilty for not getting around to it.
At Denwerks, my shop, we are not restoring cars. We have been preserving a lot of fine old rigs, over 800 in the last 13 years.
Do You or Do You Know Someone With An O...ld Car That May Want To Get Back On The Road, So It Can Be Enjoy Again? Maybe its inherited it, maybe its about the time, maybe its not knowing know where to start. We do this every day for our own cars. So we are considering working on other folks cars, not as a restoration shop, but as preservationists for folks to enjoy their cars again. We can pick up your car as well. Let me know, I have a couple we are working on now, but have time to do more.

Our Latest Preserves

This 1972 Jeep Commando is a great example. We took this tired looking rig and with a little time and attention, and a lot of love put it back on the road. Is it restored to show quality? No, but it's preserved for it's new owner to enjoy driving for years to come.

Before Preservation:

Don't get me wrong, there is nothing more beautiful than a fully restored classic car. While I'm all for "restoring", I, like all of us, live in the real world where dreams of restoring that old car are just that, dreams. What we aim to do is get more people enjoying more cars by preserving them to a level of safety and drive ability where they can be used and enjoyed instead of living under a tarp for the next forever.
